Not Ready Yeti

I’m still working on the Yeti. It took me a ridiculously long time to work out how to make his face.

His brow ridge was a piece of straight crochet rolled over and stitched.

For his lips and chin, I made a blue oval, kept the same stitch count for a few rows, swapped to white maintaining the stitch count, and then gradually increased to give him a muzzle with an inset mouth.

For his nose I crocheted a triangle and used bobble stitches for his nostrils, which I pushed inside out. Then I sewed it into shape. I wanted him to look like an abominable snowman, so a cross between a gorilla and a Neanderthal, and I’m quite pleased with the result.

Now he needs some arms, some ears, maybe some horns, and a red parka.
